This place holds so much beauty and charm, I think I'm in love!
This is something I’ve wanted to start for a while now, but such a challenge calls for the right inspiration and timing. I’ve always been inspired by the dedication of those who have taken on the 365 Project, where they document a year of their life, by taking a daily photo featuring highlights of their day. People start for many reasons, with different motivations. For me, it's an evolving creative expression in captured moments, with occasional raves or reflections...

I'm sorry to leave you behind
Antique shopping in the medieval town, Arundel was fascinating! I seriously contemplated bringing this unique wineholder back with me to Sydney, but it would've tipped my baggage weight way OVER the limit. My colleagues luckily (?) convinced me otherwise. Still I may just know someone back home who can help create this little beauty! A very talented artisan with a passion for this work, Mr Bryan Petersen of BronForge...

What a surprise...
Kurtis came back to visit us from Canada, after having been working, dancing overseas for almost 3 years. I was so happy we had the chance to catch up at dinner. All night, I'd been admiring a ring on his finger and asked him where he got it. He smiles and gets me to take a look on the inscription inside. It read- 'Namaste (heart) Marie'. I had actually given him that ring before he left! Very funny indeed! Anyway, I'm glad to know I have amazing taste, but shame about my memory having a short circuit :) All the best with your astounding career Kurtis, send my love to Emma when you're back xoxo

NYE ritual..
A little late, but I feel its perfectly timed as it was performed with the first fullmoon of the year. Out with the old, in with the new! Burning ceremonies are an ancient and symbolic way of release and letting go of what no longer serves you. Another piece of paper with a list of major intentions or what we wished to bring into this year was taken out to sea for the waves to take them in. Tonight, this moment was shared with a very special girlfriend, Hahn (thank you)! This also reminded me of a very special time with my girlfriends in Byron back in NYE 2010. Unforgettable and will always be one of the best ever.

My year will be bright
My year will be amazing,
And it all starts tonight!'

Love thunderstorms
This was one lucky press of the button. Out of 93 pics, this is the only shot of the insane lightning show I managed to capture. This storm has been going on for hours now and is now about to be my lullaby...buona notte!!

Home, sweet home...
Day 11 and 3,850kms later, we finally make it back to Sydney. As much as I love adventure and travel, I've found that nothing is sweeter than coming home. My own bed. Home cooked meals. A full wardrobe ;) What an epic roadtrip..grazie amore! Sei meraviglioso....

Cradle Mountain
This was our last stop before we head to Devonport to board the Spirit of Tasmania tonight. We rode from Launceston with all of our layers as it did get quite cold this morning. At some point it was about 7deg, luckily it did warm up as we walked around Dove Lake which took us about 2 hours in total (in all our layers and bike gear as well so we did get quite the much needed workout haha). We rested here for a few minutes and saw the clouds roll in. Fortunately we managed to get back to the bikes before the rain came in! Mountain weather is so unpredictable!

Day trip..
Travelled through historic site @ Port Arthur, which was established in the 1830's as a penal settlement. Now a very popular tourist destination. What you see is the shell of the old Chapel that once stood, built by convicts . I overheard a couple discussing their wedding ceremony. Interesting choice of location! Definitely a place to visit when in Tasmania..

Felice Nuovo Anno
Goodbye 2011, Hello 2012! Sullivans Cove, Hobart put on quite a show. While I've not had the chance to follow through with my NYE ritual, I'll be doing this on the night of the fullmoon (1/9/12)...
